My Favorite Verse

No one knows how it feels until it actually happens to you personally. Having sympathy for one person is nice, but being able to relate to them is so much more meaningful. I know for a fact I am able to relate to a lot of different people because my experiences have been broaden over the years. In my walk with Christ, I have come to understand that we can relate to the people that lived approximately 2,000 years ago during the time the bible describes them. Many people see them as such fictional characters that someone integrated into the bible to make it more alluring and therefore readable. As true believers, we know this is absolutely not true.

Those mentioned in the bible were real people living real situations and experiencing pain, suffering, love, heartbreak, illness and every emotion we too now experience. So it is because of this new concept that I gravitate to one specific verse in particular in the book of Ecclesiastes 12:1. It has become my favorite biblical verse because I started memorizing it since I was about 14 and ever since it has stuck with me through thick and thin. I know the years have passed, I am no longer as youthful as I’d like to think of myself to be; yet, I always find comfort in it because of the first line that emphasizes He is OUR creator. One can also find a deeper meaning behind it if you realize that as a believer our body ages but our soul becomes more youthful with time in Christ.

The most common response people have towards me: you are funny, fun, sweet, loving and non-judgmental. So I clearly know that I am a very happy and youthful being by my own character, and this too resonates with this verse of feeling youthful beyond my actual number. I genuinely advice you to find your favorite bible verse and really endeavor as to why it has taken such strong hold of you personally. Memorize it and think about it when times get tough and when the sky isn’t looking so bright. I am not the perfect role model and there are many wrongs I’d like to undue, but one thing is certain that the good work that the Lord has started in me He shall too come to finish and perfect it. Be encouraged to let 2019 be a year of truly turning the page over and starting fresh with the attitude of I can do all things through Christ that strengths me. Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them
